How do I introduce my kitten to a new dry food?
It’s important to introduce new food gradually. Going slowly will give your kitten time to adjust to their new food and will also reduce the chances of digestive upset. Start by giving your kitten a few days to settle into their new environment before making any changes. To transition your kitten to feeding ORIJEN dry cat foods, begin by mixing 25% new food with 75% old food. Slowly increase the new food proportionately over the next five to seven days until you are feeding 100% new food.
How much should I feed my kitten?
It is recommended to start with the feeding portions as suggested on the pet food packaging. Weighing your kitten’s daily feeding allowance allows you to monitor their intake. You may need to adjust portions as you learn your kitten’s ideal daily ‘maintenance’ amount. These amounts may also change over time as your kitten ages.
